The Kaiser Regional Lab was an interior remodel of an existing warehouse. There are 9,000 square feet of administrative and pathologist offices on the upper floor. The 48,000 square foot facility on the lower level provide Kaiser with an automated laboratory in which approximately 90% of specimens are processed on their new automated line. Their traditional lab was reorganized based on the processing of specimens to improve productivity and efficiencies. This lab has taken the concept of Process-Based Reorganization to a farther point than any other lab in the world to date.
